Assignment 5 - Due, Thur, Nov 5
Partner Project - “Pros and Cons” – write a blog post that includes a first draft of talking points for YOUR side of the issue that you and your partner have chosen. To create this list of talking points, read the supporting articles that are on your side, and include the strong points of your argument that you will debate.
Also, please include an idea for how to best present the written information portion of your debate presentation (poster, word document, powerpoint, etc). This written portion will be used to provide written and visual support for your spoken debate in front of the class.

Requirements: — the articles are your choice. However, you must check the Panther before you start writing to make sure you’re not duplicating a topic that someone else has already done.

- include a relevant photo w/ caption (aligned right or left, small enough that text wraps around) ** When inserting your photo, make sure the cursor is at the top of your post (before your first word) when you start the photo upload process. On your own, read some of the supporting information included with “The Man Who Knew” from Frontline. During class next week (9/21 – 9/25), you will present a 5-10 minute lesson, discussion and/or activity on a topic related to this documentary, the 9/11 Commission report and/or any other topic related to radical Islamic terrorism. You can find more ideas here and here also.
Please get your topic approved by me before you start preparing so we don’t have the same subject presented twice.
The format of the presentation is up to you – powerpoint, lecture, q & a, video, maps or a combination of these into something that your classmates would want to watch.

Two (2) articles for the school newspaper, The Pendleton Panther. The content of your articles is your choice, but remember you are writing for your classmates and the Pendleton/IMG audience. Articles should be posted to your wordpress blog, 150-250 words (use the word count in wordpress). All material should be appropriate for school. All that is required for this assignment is the title and text of your articles. We’ll work on the extras in class on Wednesday.
